The Foundation for Indigenous Kids is currently looking for the volunteers in the following areas:
Minimum one year engagement in Ecuador.
Duties will vary but the scope of responsibilities will include emails, bookkeeping, social media, coordinating logistics in country and meeting with our indigenous partners. Candidate should be fluent in Spanish (a little rusty is ok!), responsible, detail oriented and a sense of adventure.
This position includes housing and a $500/month stipend.

One part volunteer + One part tourist= Voluntourist. Have the experience of a lifetime – and make a difference!
We are currently looking for the voluntourists in the following areas:
Teachers – English, Technology, Permaculture, Sustainable Living
Minimum commitment of 4 weeks is requested, but not mandatory.
A unique program offering volunteers the opportunity to positively impact the lives of the indigenous while experiencing Ecuador! Duties include preparing class materials and teaching English and computer skills to community members. Classes may also be offered on health and nutrition and organic farming principles.
Families are Welcome!
This program takes place in both Banos, Ecuador and in different indigenous communities, depending on the interest of the volunteer and the needs of the Foundation. Children 10 + years old are welcome when accompanied by parents.
Candidates should be organized, patient and be a good communicator. Knowledge of Spanish is very helpful, but not required. Volunteer hours are Monday to Thursday 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm, and Fridays 9am to 12pm.

With our program you not only do you get to contribute and make a difference, but we include weekend tours and classes so you can experience the people, places and culture of Ecuador.
Tourism and Adventure
When touring on weekends we will meet local people, hike to waterfalls, ride in canoes, eat local foods, play with monkeys and see volcanoes! Exact locations and level of adventure is up to the volunteers.
Costs: The cost of the program per person is:
- Starting at $15/day depending on duration and what programs are available. Please inquire.
All costs include housing (usually double occupancy with shared hot water bathroom and access to cooking facilities), the cost of day tours and guides on the weekends, and a class in tropical fruits and vegetables (offered once a month).
